Maurice worked in obscurity for more than forty years, painting, drawing, sculpting, writing. His work reflects the joy that was his very self. Although he made many attempts to see his work go out, it never happened. Before I met him, he knew he was not destined to be known. Yet he continued to create almost every day of his life. Leaving behind almost 20,000 works of visual art, and countless writings, photographs, and musical compositions.
